On October 11th, Douglas Springer and board member Terry Pasiuk from British Columbia arrived in Lima Peru to visit some of CMRC’s projects. Although we do not have an ongoing project in the Coffee region of Mendoza, we still work with Jesus and Marisol to help them with their church and ministry in the remote village around their coffee plantation. Evangelism and discipleship is the main focus as they reach out to the community. Jesus and Marisol are expanding their business with the goal of reaching more farmers in their community as well as in Lima where they process their coffee for sale in the Lima region. Terry is working with them on a business plan.
After three days, we flew into the Amazon to meet with Karen and talk about the Young Women’s Education program. The five students with scholarships are studying nursing and pharmaceutical.
We went to watch them in a community clinic, and in a lab investigating natural jungle remedies for asthma. They work with scientists producing the medication, then use it with their family and friends for three months. After this, they make reports to their teacher and the scientists.

On Sunday, we all got into a river boat and travelled to the village of Santa Zulema, 45 minutes down the Amazon River. On the way, we stopped and watched pink dolphins jump and play. In Santa Zulema, we met with Pastor Valerio and wife Leyla for lunch, and then held a dedication service of the church that CMRC paid to build this past year.

It is exciting to see the new church and the congregation worshipping. Our friends Keny and Marisol from Iquitos were the ones who managed the building project. Also on the trip were the young women in our education program.
After returning to Lima, Terry returned home to Vancouver and I met with the Peruvian Director of Operation Blessing, Nancy Perez, and her husband Martin, as well as our long time friend David who now works with Operation Blessing. We discussed their work in the Amazon and investigated possibilities of our working together in the future.

I want to thank God, who gave me the privilege of meeting brothers Oziel and Maria Elena. God used them, and we have the blessing of being supported by them in what we do here. Also, because of them, I have the blessing to know brother Douglas and many more servants like him. Thank you brother Douglas and CMRC donors. We thank you for the construction project of our house/church, which is helping us to develop our ministry. Unfortunately, due to the economic situation of our country and the rising costs of all the needs, we are still working on the project.
Regarding our pastoral work, I want to testify that due to health problems, I have had to rely on my wife and brothers at church to visit and care for the elderly and sick brothers in their homes. We have two services per week in the church.

On Wednesday we have a prayer service, and Sunday is our worship service. All of this has been possible thanks to God and the financial support we receive from brother Douglas and CMRC through Sister Maria Elena and Ignacio, who have been faithful in their concern for us to receive it every month. We thank God for each one of them, and for all those who have supported us and prayed for us.
Please note:
Doug Springer will be going to Cuba on the 19th of November.
